General poisoning notes:Horses have been poisoned in Japan by ingesting the leaves of chive (Allium schoenoprasum) in early spring. Chives have escaped cultivation and have been naturalized in various parts of Canada, but the plants are not abundant. References:Kobayashi, T. 1950.
